The Lost Art of Gratitude

In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, the simple act of saying "thank you" is becoming a lost art. It's a gesture I practice consistently, whether someone is entering an event or leaving one of our gyms after a session. My colleague, Big Mike Capriglione, often observes this practice, understanding its profound importance.

It's a lesson I'm actively instilling in my own son. Whether he's finishing teeball practice, leaving school, or concluding a clinic, the instruction is straightforward: walk up to your coach or teacher and express your gratitude. This seemingly small action carries immense weight.

Why Gratitude Matters

Unfortunately, we often see people rushing out, heads buried in their phones, with no acknowledgment. This lack of connection is a missed opportunity. That small act of saying "thank you" does several powerful things:

  • Builds Respect Instantly: It shows appreciation for someone's time, effort, and guidance.
  • Differentiates You: Even at a young age, it sets you apart from the crowd.
  • Wins in Any Market: In the free market, the service market, and personal interactions, genuine gratitude fosters positive relationships and trust.

Great business doesn't need to be overly complicated, but it absolutely must be consistent in its core values and practices.

Our SWIFT Code of Conduct

This belief in simple, powerful principles is why we've integrated our "SWIFT" code of conduct into every aspect of our operations at VH:

  • Smile
  • Work the room
  • Instigate success
  • Find a friend
  • Thankful (Be THANKFUL)

Our business has been built on the foundation of simple systems and standards, consistently applied and repeated over many years. These systems are not just theoretical; they are the backbone that helps us engage nearly 700 personal training clients on a weekly basis, fostering strong relationships and delivering consistent value.

Elevate Your Business with Proven Systems

If you're a gym owner looking to implement simple, effective systems that drive revenue and ensure accountability within your team, we offer intensive programs designed to help you achieve this. These programs focus on translating proven methodologies into actionable strategies for your business.

We periodically run exclusive sprints for a limited number of gym owners. These intensive sessions are designed to equip you with the tools and knowledge to build and sustain a thriving business model based on solid principles and consistent execution.
